Each weekend the Brahma Kumaris offer a retreat for a particular group in the community: young people, women, educators, health professionals, business people, artists and many others. It has been described by one participant as 'a health retreat for the mind and soul'. The programs are designed to cater to personal needs engendered by the hectic lifestyle of the 00s.

The true ingredients for a happy relationship are respect, love and trust. However with familiarity and a busy lifestyle, we often forget to foster them. Discover how the philosophy and practice of Raja Yoga meditation can rekindle these experiences, leading to a deeper spiritual relationship. The weekend will include an introduction to Raja Yoga meditation, where the link with the Supreme Soul gives us the strength to transform ourselves. Facilitators: New South Wales couple, Greg Wellham and Jessica Yuille have been meditating with the Brahma Kumaris for a number of years. Currently they help at The Brahma Kumaris Retreat Centre in the Blue Mountains as volunteers.

PEACE TIME FOR KIDS - A PROGRAM FOR FAMILIES - Sunday 6th July 2.30 pm – 5 pm

Most children are familiar with lunch time, play time, bath time, and bed time. Now you can introduce them to ‘peace time’ – time out for your children to discover their inner peace and reconnect with their true positive nature. This afternoon program is for families who wish to introduce their children to creative meditation designed to assist children in remaining calm and focused and to help ease stress. Facilitator: Sara Albion has recently produced a CD especially for children. The meditation reflections and the music in it offer a wide range of opportunities for children to experience relaxation and peace.

This form of meditation is the basis of self rule, or self responsibility. In our contemporary, western urban living, the practice of self rule is essential if we are to attain a balanced, happy and empowered life. This will be a weekend that delves into a balance of philosophical wisdom and meditation practice facilitated by a variety of experienced practitioners.

Continuing the series of programs for women to empower and uplift the creative self. Deep within the heart and soul of every woman lies a sacred space of power. When you are able to be in touch with this sacred space, you unleash your innermost power to create and make the impossible possible. Facilitator: Jill Shanti is an experienced community worker, specializing in creating and facilitating programs to empower women. She is a meditator and teacher of Raja Yoga for the past ten years.

SEVEN STEPS TO SILENCE - It is recommended for those who have NOT attended this program before and are familiar with the Retreat Centre.

When we can start the day with just a minute of solitude and contemplative silence, even the most crowded schedule runs more smoothly. This is a silent weekend which will be interspersed with times of discussion, times of activity and times of silence. We will discuss the steps to achieve a state of silence and a feeling of real peace.

CONFIRMATION OF BOOKINGS

Vegetarian meals will be provided and participants are asked to abstain from smoking, alcohol and drugs (except prescribed) for the duration of the retreat.

The Brahma Kumaris offer tuition without charge. However there are expenses in running the Retreat Centre and providing facilities for programs. Your voluntary contribution to these costs is appreciated.

For Weekend Programs you are welcome to arrive after 5.30pm Friday (dinner at 7.30pm) and depart after lunch on Sunday.

GENERAL COURSES

FOUNDATION COURSE IN RAJA YOGA.
This Meditation course teaches the practice of calming a busy mind and creating positive thoughts. It involves a deeper appreciation of universal spiritual truths.

One session per week for eight weeks. Starts 1st Monday of each month 7.30pm to 9.00pm OR Starts 1st Tuesday of each month 10.00am to 11.30am.

ADVANCED STUDY. Once Foundation Course completed.

Daily: 6.00am-7.15am Morning class and meditation.
7.00pm-7.30pm Evening mediation.
Monday: 7.00pm-8.30pm and Tuesday: 10.00am-11.30am
Study of the original knowledge (murli)
Wednesday: 7.00pm-9.00pm Raja Yoga meditation in daily life

POSITIVE THINKING
The aim of this course is to provide a simple introduction to the working of the mind, thoughts and thought patterns. Positive Thinking teaches us how to act rather than react - to get a firm hold on our lives instead of being led by others or by circumstances.

One session per week for four weeks. Starts 1st Wednesday of each month 10.00am to 11.30am OR 7.30pm to 9.00pm.
